Office Essentials

Office Essentials

Hi again!  Sorry I haven't posted in a while; I've been incredibly busy with school these past few weeks, but the good news is that I only have five weeks of school left!  Until then, I'll just be trying to post as often as I can.
In other news, I was contacted by Betabrand to talk about what I consider to be office essentials.  Every office is different, but here are some key pieces that I think would work for every environment.

BLAZERS
One can never go wrong with a blazer.  They instantly add a more professional touch - even if you're just wearing jeans.  I personally like boyfriend blazers over the more traditional, fitted blazer.

BLOUSES
Button-ups are a classic piece, but this one from Zara separates itself from the pack with its bare shoulders and ruffles making it a great piece for spring.  Other than button-ups, I love turtle necks.  I used to not care for them, but over the past few months I haven't been able to keep them off.  Though most turtlenecks are meant for winter, this one from Aritzia is the perfect weight for spring.

TROUSERS
Sure, jeans are cool, but there are so many other amazing options.  Culottes and a high waist are some of my personal preferences, but if comfort is your thing, then you should check out the pants from Betabrand.  Many of their pants look office appropriate while still being incredibly comfortable because of the fabrics and materials used.

SHOES
I own way too many pairs of black ankle boots, but that's because they're appropriate for everything.  They go with everything from dresses to culottes.  And if your office is more casual, I adore my Adidas Superstars.  I found this pastel pink and floral pair that I would love for spring (I know, I know... "Florals?  For spring?  Groundbreaking.")

ACCESSORIES
When working in an office, of course you'll need a tote.  Everyone has one, so why should it be boring?  I love this Calvin Klein one, but I just adore silver.  Finally, not necessarily office essentials, but just wardrobe essentials: a good belt and sunglasses.

I hope you liked this post!  Hopefully I can fit one more post in this weekend!

Fall Essentials

Fall Essentials

Since we are now well into fall, I thought I would just share a few of what I thought are some essential trends and pieces for this new season.
Suede:  I recently heard Rachel Zoe on her new talk show say, "suede for winter and leather all year."  With that in mind, it's no surprise that suede is everywhere right now.  (It helps that the 1970s are ever-so popular right now, too.)  I think this shift style of the dress perfectly balances the suede.
Turtlenecks:  I am currently obsessed with turtle, as they are taking over my wardrobe.  However, it's not just me who thinks they're essential, editors at Elle UK agree that a turtleneck is the key piece for any outfit this fall.  (Also, don't you think it would pair perfectly with this shift dress?)
Chelsea Boots:  Let me just say this: Chelsea boots go with everything.
Victorian Style:  All over the fall runways, like Alexander McQueen and Alberta Ferretti, these styles reminiscent of Victorian and Edwardian fashion have been showcased.  As a fashion history lover, I can really appreciate this trend.
Camel:  Camel, camel, camel!  Thanks to the 1970s trend, this color is everywhere.  If there's one color to wear this season, it's camel.

Wishlist: Summer 2015

Wishlist: Summer 2015

Glamorous Belted Shirtdress
H&M Asymmetrical Top
White Midi Skirt
Adidas Superstars
MAC Red Lipstick
Smashbox Step by Step Contour Kit

Do you ever feel like you get into a summer slump?  Right now, I'm really feeling it.  I sometimes find myself staring into my closet, just waiting for inspiration to strike.  Because of this 'slump,' I decided to create this wishlist, even though I know most of these things I will probably never end up owning (*cough* the $300 skirt *cough*).
Since it's summer, I've realized that I really don't own any tanks or light dresses.  I love the asymmetry of this top from H&M.  I discovered the dress from Emma Walker and just absolutely fell in love with it; the length and the pattern are right up my alley.  I've been thinking about these Adidas since I went to the Teen Vogue Fashion U in March - so many people had them and just looked so great.  The white midi skirt, even though it's rather pricey, it's exactly what I've been looking for.  The MAC lipstick I already own, but it's getting to the end of its life (in fact I just featured it on my favorite lipsticks post).  Finally, this Smashbox contour kit is suppose to be amazing.  Oh, and the Elle UK, you ask?  Well it's my favorite magazine, BUT since I live in a small town in the US, it can be pretty hard to find.

These are the summer items that I'm currently wishing for, but what about you?  I'd love to hear; comment your links below!

Craving: Sneakers

Craving: Sneakers

NIKE shoes
New Balance sporting shoes
NIKE shoes
Adidas sneaker
New Balance suede shoes
Adidas Originals black white shoes

Ever since I returned home from New York in March, I've been obsessing over sneakers.  Before I went there and spent time at Fashion U, I wasn't sure if there was a way to successfully pull off sneakers in a stylish way, but afterwards I realized there were many-a-ways to do so.  My favorite picks so far are the Adidas Superstars, New Balance Classics, and Nike Air Max, however they're hard to find where I live.  To make it even more difficult, some of them are either quite expensive or sold out online.

Any recommendations on which pair I should get?  I'm not too familiar with any of the brands, so I'd love some advice.  :)

Craving: Over the Knee Boots

Craving: Over the Knee Boots
1) Aldo
2) Kohls
3)  DSW

Lately I've been obsessed with over the knee boots.  I'm seeing them everywhere; every blogger to every street style star is wearing them.  These three I found are my favorite pairs.  The prices on these range from $70 to $180.  I would be happy with any of these pairs, even though I'm not in a position right now to get a pair, but because of where I live, the second pair would probably be the most practical (they are also the cheapest).  Which pair is you favorite?
