Chilly

Wearing:
Jumper - Target, Jeans - UO Urban Outfitters, Shoes - Kohls, Bag - DSW
Lipstick - Revlon Colorstay Ultimate Suede 035

As you can tell from the photos, it was starting to get rather dark, so not too many pictures today.  This is a typical day outfit for me, in the sense that it's very easy.  When I'm tired in the morning or even if it's just really cold, I'll throw on jeans and a jumper.  Recently the snow has started to die down, which means I don't have to wear boots every. single. day.  Today I went for my oxfords.  Finally I added some lipstick because overall I felt it was a bit boring without it.  Fun fact about this lipstick: I talked about this lipstick in my very first blog post (all the way back in 2013).  Oh how I and my posts have changed.

Fresh Hair

Wearing:
Dress - H&M, Faux Fur Vest - Boohoo, Shoes - Target, Hat - Vintage

Let me get this out of the way first:
Finals are over!!
Now I might actually have time to start blogging again!

More importantly though, I got my haircut!  My hair just started to feel way too long (even though it was only shoulder length), and I realized I actually hadn't cut my hair in a while.  After I got it cut, I went home and touched up my roots too.  My goal hair color is to become a very light blonde, but I think I'll have to do it professionally to get the look I want (because box color just hasn't been working out as well as I have hoped).  Overall though, I'm more than satisfied with the color and cut.
I just got these shoes last week, and they are so comfortable.  I wasn't entirely sold with this slide on style when they first became popular, but after seeing so many bloggers look amazing in them, I considered trying out a pair.  Normally I would have waited until I had a bit more cash to spare, but I came across these on clearance for $12!  At $12, they were the perfect price to experiment.  I wanted these shoes to stand out, so I kept the rest of the outfit black with a black midi dress, fur vest, and vintage fedora.

Forgotten Gems

Wearing:
Blouse - H&M, Skirt - Forever 21, Shoes - Asos, Necklace - Target, Tights - Target
Makeup:
Eyeshadow - Sephora, Eyeliner - Sephora, Mascara - Bourjois Paris Fan-Tastic Volume, Eyebrow Pencil - Japanese, Lip Balm - Neutrogena Revitalizing Lip Balm in Petal, BB Cream - Rimmel London

Do you ever accidentally push clothes to the back of your closet, never wear them, and therefore forget that they ever existed?  That happens to me; in fact, it happened with this skirt.  I got it a couple years ago and, frankly, just forgot about it.  Yesterday I was cleaning out my closet and rediscovered it.  I wanted to wear it yesterday, but it was quite colder so I decided to wear it today instead.  Knowing that I had to pair it with tights, it is still January, I went with this top that also had black in it.  I went back and forth on shoes, but these gold ones were too fun to pass up for this look.  Then I decided to tie in more gold, which was why I added the necklace.
Unlike most days where I don't have time to put on makeup (*cough* over-sleeping *cough*), today I wanted to try out some new makeup items that I got for Christmas.  My mom got me a new brush set (Real Techniques) because my old one was incredibly cheap and falling apart.  I hardly ever wear face makeup, but today I wanted to take the plunge so I could try out the brushes.  I actually don't own a "real" foundation, the closest thing I have is a BB Cream.  I started there, then went to the eyes.  My cousin gave me a Sephora gift card for Christmas; I don't have one where I live, but while I was in Michigan over Christmas I was able to use it.  I got this great palette, it's called the "IT Palette - Nudes" by Sephora.  It came with lots of great colors, but I especially love this nude-ish color.  After doing my eyes, I experimented with my eyebrows.  I don't want to brag, but I like to think of myself as having pretty nice eyebrows to begin with.  But when I was in San Francisco, I found this small, Japanese store that sold things for only $1.50.  I found this eyebrow pencil and decided it was the perfect price to experiment.  Finally, I added a little tinted lipbalm.  I'm actually quite happy with this makeup and will definitely do it again.

Too Cold, Too Dark

Wearing:
Jacket - Love & Love, Top - Forever 21, Jeans - Topshop, Boots - Kenneth Cole REACTION, Hat - Vintage

Happy New Year everyone!  This first week back at school has actually been relatively stressful for me; I've had multiple tests, essays, a musical that I'm helping with, and finals in less than two weeks, so I've had a lot on my plate.  So I guess I'm apologizing in advance for my upcoming lack of posting.
Anyway, I haven't been as inspired lately.  Even though I got many beautiful new clothes over the holidays, many of them are impractical for the weather here.  For example, it has been in the negatives in temperature recently, and the sidewalks have been covered in ice.  Then by the time I get home from play practice, it's too dark to take photos.  So I've been wearing a lot of skinny jeans and boots lately.  For this look, I took the jeans and boots look but added a nicer top and jacket.  This striped high neck top is a new favorite of mine; it has long sleeves making it good for winter, but the high neck makes it different from other things I have.  Then I added this pink, faux-fur jacket because it pops against the black and white I'm wearing with it.  Finally I threw on my hat, completing the look.  When I went outside, it was much cold than I had initially thought; I probably should have worn an actual coat, but oh well, what you do for the pictures.  :)

A Look Back at 2014

Happy New Year everyone!  I decided to look back at all of my posts from 2014 and feature my favorite ones.  I find it interesting to look back at these photos; my hair's changed, the weather's changed, I've changed.  This has been a good year for my blog as well.  In December, I reached eight followers on Bloglovin; while it may not sound like much, at the beginning of the year I only had three.  I also reached 100 posts.  When I first started, it took me a long time to get the hang of blogging.  I wasn't even sure if I would be able to commit to it.  Now, it's a big part of my life, and I get a great deal of joy from doing it.  So I want to thank all of you for following me through 2014.  Let's make 2015 amazing!
