Rochester

Another quick visit!  After Brighton, my mom and I hopped on a train (actually two) to Rochester, a small town in eastern England.  We went to Rochester so I could go to an Open Day at the University for the Creative Arts.  The town is very old (maybe the 12th century castle gave it away?), but the campus itself is very modern.  After spending the day on the campus, my mom and I walked through the city center and eventually stumbled upon a Christmas fair.  I wasn't feeling very well that day, so I didn't go on any of the rides or eat any of the carnival foods, but it was still fun to walk around the fair.
Considering it's December, I expected it to be cold, or at least rather chilly.  With that expectation, I wore a heavy jumper and tights with my dress.  Very soon after getting dressed, though, I realized I had made a mistake; I was so hot!  Maybe it doesn't help where I come from a place where the average temperature in December is about 10 degrees Fahrenheit, so there it felt like a heat wave!  As you can see, I even pulled my hair back - something I rarely do.
We left Rochester the next day to go to Preston, which is in northwest England.  I forgot to take any pictures there, so my next post will head straight to London.  But in Preston I toured the University of Central Lancashire, which actually surpassed my expectations; the program there looks really good.

I want to end by wishing everyone a happy new year!  2015 has been a great year for me; I graduated high school, started college, went to New York City to attend Teen Vogue's Fashion University, and just returned from an unforgettable trip to England.  I can't wait to see what 2016 has in store!

26 Hours in Brighton

Sorry for the silence over this past month, but if you've been following me on Instagram then I'm sure you know that I've been in England!  I was gone for almost three weeks, but I had the time of my life.  I went on the trip for educational purposes; I don't feel satisfied at my current university so I'm planning on transferring to a university in England so I can study fashion.  Because of this, my mom and I traveled around England so I could visit each of the campuses I'm interested in.  We spent the first week touring five different campuses, but after that we spent the rest of the trip shopping and trying to not act like tourists!  Our first stop was in Brighton, but due to scheduling, we were only able to be there for a day!  I really wish that I was able to stay there longer as Brighton has such a unique vibe to it.  Even though I didn't play any of the games or ride any of the rides, I still thought the pier was a lot of fun!
As you can see, it was an incredibly windy day.  The fact that I was able to get this many usable photos where my hair isn't completely in my face is a miracle.  Other than the wind, it was a pretty nice day.  When I wasn't so close to the beach, I even found my jumper to be too warm.  This jumper was about the brightest clothing item I brought with me on the trip, so it was easy to make it pop.  I paired it with simple black skinnys, my classic Chelsea boots, and my grey coat.  Black, white, and grey was the color scheme I brought with me, but I think the red is a great accent.
The city of Brighton reminds a bit of Seattle.  I love Seattle, so it makes sense why I liked Brighton so much.  Who knows, maybe I'll be living in Brighton next year!

Slow Down

Wearing
Dress - Forever 21, Shirt - Forever 21, Boots - Kohls
Eyeshadow - Smashbox Sample from Sephora

Long time no see, am I right?  I didn't realize just how busy I was until I saw that it had been over a month since I posted!  The reason that I'm so busy is because I actually don't have any finals during finals week but before.  At my school, finals week is right now, but for me, I had to do almost everything last week.  In a sense I was lucky because I only had one exam (and it wasn't even cumulative), but I had a ton of projects.  So for the past two weeks, I had to give a Pecha Kucha presentation (if you don't know what this is, you are incredibly lucky), turn in my photography final, and finish my drawing final.  It ended up being very overwhelming to get everything done and handed in in this amount of time.
For this look, I was clearly channeling the 1970s.  Even though it was warmer than it had been the past few days, I still got pretty chilly wearing thing (as seen by my red nose in the last picture).  I was especially cold after in the evening as I went to see a local performance of "White Christmas."  I ended up wearing my coat through the entire second act.  All in all, though, I really like the look of this layer from the turtleneck and the dress.  I know I'll be wearing this look again.

Oh, wondering about this title?  Two things: 1) 2015 has gone so fast!  Who can believe that it's already December?  and 2)  A car from the parking lot was driving way too fast and almost hit my photographer (a.k.a my mom)!  It was especially unsafe considering how icy the roads are right now!
