I'm over a week late on this post, but never the less, last week it was my birthday!  It wasn't just any birthday either, it was my 20th!  It was rather odd officially saying goodbye to my teenage years, and throughout the day everyone kept asking me how it felt to be 20.  My answer?  I still felt like I did the day before.  I'm sure it's the same with most people, but it almost never sets in right away when I've turned a year older.  That being said, it was one of my greatest birthdays I've ever had.  My friends and I started off the day by going to Masala Zone in Soho for lunch; it's one of my favorite restaurants that I've been to in London, and it has a terrific butter chicken (my favorite).  After a satisfying lunch,  the five of us found Choccywoccydoodah, a shop with amazing chocolate and cake creations.  In the upstairs of the shop they have a cafe, where we each ordered hot chocolate and cake.  I believe the cake I ordered was 7 layers, and I actually wasn't able to finish it because it was so rich and filling.  Although the best part about the shop was when our waitress had the entire cafe sing "Happy Birthday" to me.  I may have turned as red as a tomato, but it was actually a lot of fun.  We finished off the day by being our normal crazy selves and taking funny photos along Carnaby Street.  I'm sure you can believe me when I tell you there are tons more wacky photos of us than just the ones I've posted here.

So, Penny, Amber, Conor, and Holly, thank you all again for a fantastic birthday.  I wouldn't have wanted to celebrate it any other way.

Carousels and Gardens

Over the course of only four days in Paris, I managed to take over 900 photos.  I nearly filled my 16GB memory card in my camera as I shot in both RAW and JPEG.  Anyway, taking so many photos  then is making it nearly impossible now to decide on which pictures to post now.  So, if it's alright with you, I'm splitting up my 'outfit' pictures with my sight seeing pictures.  For example, today's post will mainly consist of the outfit I wore on my second day in Paris.  However my next post will focus on the museums I went to that day.

So what did I do on my second day in Paris?  Well, Ash and I started out our day at the Rodin Museum.  That museum has been one of my favorites since first going there in 2014.  Afterwards we headed toward the Louvre but made a quick pitstop at the carousel in the Tuileries Gardens.  When I was a toddler I rode on this same carousel and attempted recreating a photo that was taken of me when I was no more than three; I'm not including the picture now as I made the poor decision to wear a dress, which made it surprisingly difficult to choose a place to sit on the ride.  Ash and I then spent at least three hours in the Louvre (and barely scratched the surface in the Louvre's massive collection), where we saw hundreds of paintings and sculptures.  The two of us then ended our day at Angelina's, the famous hot chocolate restaurant in central Paris.  Ash and I agreed; it was definitely worth the hype (and the 20 minutes we spent queuing out front).

I packed a lot of black for this trip.  Paris is famous for its citizens wearing nothing but black; luckily for me, this wasn't a challenge.  Most of my wardrobe already consists of black.  My troubles came from dressing for the weather.  I know exactly how to dress for a mountain winter, and now I'm confident in dressing for a London winter.  Paris, though?  Even though I have been to this beautiful city a number of times before this trip, it had always been in the summer.  I just wasn't quite sure exactly how cold it would be.  Well, I decided to risk it and pack this dress.  When the time came to wear it, it actually wasn't as bad as I thought it might be.  My original intent was to wear my fishnet tights with this, but I luckily made the wise last minute switch to proper tights and was barely cold.  There were still multiple times where I found my nose to be as red as Rudolph's or that I was constantly putting on my gloves, but as we were inside museums for most of the day it really wasn't too bad.

Bonjour Paris

Bonjour!  If you follow me on Instagram, you would know that I spent the last few days in Paris!  It was a bit of a last minute planned trip with one of my friends from the States.  I arrived back in London last week, but was only there for 48 hours before hopping on the Eurostar with my friend, Ash.

These photos were taken on our first night there.  It was my first time back to Paris since 2014, but it was Ash's very first time to Paris.  It was so much fun to show her around the city - it's fun to be a tour guide.  When we arrived it was later in the afternoon; we didn't want to schedule anything in case there were any train delays, so we just decided to walk along the river and see Notre Dame.  We found a small brasserie behind the cathedral where we had crepes and chocolat chaud.  It was surprisingly cold in Paris; I suppose that's what you get for going there in January.  The two of us actually had to go and buy hats because our ears got so cold!

Don't Slip

I find it easy to post in January, and for the longest time I wasn't really sure why.  Finally, I think I've narrowed it down to three reasons:

1) I'm always on break in January

Back when I was high school, this was a bit tougher because I usually had to go back to school on the 2nd or 3rd of January.  But this year and last year, I've had about a month of time off from school.  I have lots of time to take pictures, and luckily, my mom (aka my personal photographer) usually has some time off as well.

2) New Years Resolutions

I think like most bloggers, at the beginning of each year I tell myself that I'm going to post more.  And in January, I'm not bad at this resolution.  Even in February I'm able to keep up pretty well.  It's in March when Midterms hit is when I start lagging.

3) Christmas gifts

The third and final reason I find it easy to post in January is because I almost always get some new clothes for Christmas that I'm excited to show off.  Take these boots for example; I've been drooling over these since, at least, November.  I've been rather obsessed with patent leather lately, so of course I fell in love with these.  When my lovely aunt gave these to me for Christmas, I instantly wanted to shoot them.  But with all of the snow and ice arriving here, I had to wait for the sidewalks to clear (I could just tell that these boots have almost no traction, and that I would surely slip and fall if I wore these while it's icy).  While waiting to shoot these, though, it gave me time to shoot some of my other Christmas gifts, thus adding to the number of posts I was able to do this month.  I was happy to eventually be able to shoots these boots because I've known that I wanted to pair them with this jacket; this faux fur coat has long been a favorite of mine, but I just don't have room to take it back to London with me when I go back next week.  It was a bit odd wearing it in Montana, I felt like I stood out like a sore thumb, but I'm also really happy with how this look turned out.

Well, that's it for now.  Like I said earlier, I go back to London early next week, so this will probably be my last Montana post until I come back in the summer.  I've had a really nice time being back here and being able to visit with friends and family, but I'm also really excited for what this next semester has in store for me.  Be sure to stay tuned, as I have lots of exciting things planned!
