Having a Moment

Wearing:
Dress - Boohoo, Blouse - Primark, Sneakers - Adidas Superstars, Socks - Pimkie
Lipstick - M.A.C. Red with Cherry Liner

If you've been keeping up with my posts, I'm sure you've noticed that my Adidas Superstars are having a moment.  Even though I just got them last month, I've been wearing them a lot.  Because I've been wearing them so much, it's no surprise that they keep popping on here!
For this look, I decided to layer this summer dress to make it more appropriate for fall.  Knowing that I only have a limited number of warm days left, everything in my wardrobe has to be layer-able.  I decided to keep it rather simple just pair a simple white blouse with this dress.  And of course I added my Superstars, as they're a great shoe for walking around campus all day.  Finally I added my signature red lipstick for a pop of color.

Old Red Truck

Wearing:
Jacket - H&M, Shirt - Primark, Trousers - Kohls, Sneakers - Adidas Superstar, Sunglasses - Target

I used to never really care for fall; I never liked the color scheme that came with it (browns, oranges, deep reds and yellows, etc.).  However in the recent years I've realized that I love the wardrobe that it brings.  It's before it gets freezing, so all you need are jumpers/sweaters and light(er) coats.  I often say that I could live in my jumpers and my boots (another great piece fall brings).
Even though fall generally brings in deeper colors, this pastel jacket has always been a favorite of mine.  It's the perfect weight for these months (all though I sometimes wish it were more waterproof), and looks great with everything.  I like to make this coat the statement when I wear it, so I only paired it with neutrals.  While I was taking the photos, my mom pointed out this red truck behind us that I think pairs well with the colors that I'm wearing.  Normally I try to avoid excess cars in my photos, but I think that this really adds to the composition of these photos (I also love the antique vibe from the truck).

On a different note, I just took my very first college exam!  I was a bit nervous for it, but I actually feel really good about it.  I hope everyone else is having a nice start to the school year.

The 1970s Called...

Wearing:
Dress - Forever 21, Flatforms - Target, Sunglasses - Target
Nail polish - Essence Cosmetics The Nudes #10

I wish I could say this dress is vintage, but it's actually a great find from Forever 21!  The 1970s are a major trend this season, and I'm so excited about it.  I think that the '70s were such a fun time in fashion (although the 1960s will always be my all time favorite decade); it seems that every few years the '70s tries to make a comeback, but this season it's back with a vengeance!  Every store is selling this trend, from Topshop to H&M.
When I first saw this dress, when I was in Seattle, I immediately fell in love with it, however I was a bit hesitant to get it because I had just purchased my denim pinafore dress.  After thinking about it for a few days, I decided to order it.  When it arrived, I decided to style it full-force 1970s; to achieve that I pull out my flatforms and my new angular sunglasses.  I also finally touched up my nail polish with this new bronzy/rose-gold color that I just love.
What do you think about the '70s trend?  I know people either love it or hate it; if you can't tell from this post, I pretty much love it!

Lavender Eyes

Wearing:
Blouse - Kohls, Skirt - Zara, Boots - Kohls
Makeup:
Eyeshadow - Ulta Single Eyeshadow, Eyeliner - NYX Super Skinny Liner, Mascara - Estee Lauder Sumptuous Mascara

Even though I'm generally more of a lipstick person, I've recently been getting into eyeshadows.  So far, I've mainly tried the drugstore brands (no Naked palette, yet, for me).  I've seen some really great looks from other bloggers/vloggers where they've incorporated lavender eyes, so I decided to try it out for myself.  I also added a skinny cat eye because I think the direct violet color against my green eyes was a bit too harsh.
In order to make my eyes pop, I kept the rest of my look very neutral.  I don't own too many tanks (I've never been a huge fan of them), but I love the pattern and the little bit of lace of this one.  I paired the tank with this black midi skirt and ankle boots because that's my go-to as of recent.
Which color of eyeshadow do you think I should try next?  I also picked up a light pink color that I think could look really nice.

Goodbye Summer

Wearing:
Blouse - Forever 21, Trousers - Kohls, Sandals - Target, Tote Bag - Target

As it nears the end of my second week back at school, it's finally sinking in that summer has passed.  One nice thing about going back to school is that I finally get to wear my new clothes for the season.  While I was in Seattle I picked up this grey blouse; it seems that this season grey is my new favorite color as 90% of the clothes I bought were grey!  I tried channeling the last little bit of summer by pairing this blouse and trousers with these flatform sandals I recently found on clearance (for $5!!!) at Target.  I have to say, I'm glad that I got them for so cheap because they are not the most comfortable of shoes.  Finally I wore my tote with this because I just love the combination of the pastel blue of the tote and the grey of the blouse - plus those school books aren't going to carry themselves!

Happy back to school; I hope everyone had a great first week!
