Adieu

Wearing:
Coat - Forever 21 | Skirt - Zara | Shirt - Primark | Boots - DSW | Purse - Clark's | Choker - self made

If you've been following me on my other social media platforms (pretty much just instagram), you would know that I've moved!  That's right, I'm no longer living in the Rocky Mountains, but rather London!  I am now officially a fashion student, living and studying in London, England.  I couldn't be more excited for what's to come!  These were the last photos I took before I moved, so I once again wanted to take pictures at my favorite shooting location.  The sun was pretty bright, but after moving around a few times, I found this nice spot.  Also, it was pretty cold, and if you look at my nose you can see that it was turning red (I called myself Rudolph for the rest of the night).  To celebrate it being my last night there, my mom and I went to our favorite pizza place then went home and watched a movie.  It was a great way to spend one of my final nights back home.
Anyway, I don't know how often I'll be able to post in the future, and I also have some changes coming (eventually), so stay tuned, and keep following me on instagram for more frequent and fun updates!

Year Three

Wearing:
Coat - Target, Skirt - Zara, Shirt - Forever 21, Boots - Candie's, Purse - Clarks

Today is the three year anniversary of Rockin' the Rockies Style!  To celebrate, I splurged and finally bought a professional template!  I've been eyeing templates from Pipdig for a long time now, so I've decided that I would get it for today!  I hope everyone likes the change!
To celebrate the anniversary, I knew that I couldn't take pictures at my usual shoot location.  Instead I ventured downtown to a parking garage which I think has a rather urban feel.  For the look, I've been wanting to wear this skirt that I bought in Seattle for months, and it's only recently been warm enough to wear it.  I paired it with a no fail grey turtleneck and my new favorite faux-shearling coat.
I'm so happy that I've made it to three years of blogging.  I have a lot coming up for me this year - finishing my first year at university, two weddings, and a good chance of moving - but I'm going to continue blogging through it.  Thanks for staying with me!

Lavender Eyes

Wearing:
Blouse - Kohls, Skirt - Zara, Boots - Kohls
Makeup:
Eyeshadow - Ulta Single Eyeshadow, Eyeliner - NYX Super Skinny Liner, Mascara - Estee Lauder Sumptuous Mascara

Even though I'm generally more of a lipstick person, I've recently been getting into eyeshadows.  So far, I've mainly tried the drugstore brands (no Naked palette, yet, for me).  I've seen some really great looks from other bloggers/vloggers where they've incorporated lavender eyes, so I decided to try it out for myself.  I also added a skinny cat eye because I think the direct violet color against my green eyes was a bit too harsh.
In order to make my eyes pop, I kept the rest of my look very neutral.  I don't own too many tanks (I've never been a huge fan of them), but I love the pattern and the little bit of lace of this one.  I paired the tank with this black midi skirt and ankle boots because that's my go-to as of recent.
Which color of eyeshadow do you think I should try next?  I also picked up a light pink color that I think could look really nice.

Let's Mix

Wearing:
Jacket - unknown, T-Shirt - Forever 21, Skirt - & Other Stories, Purse - Zara, Boots - Steve Madden

Almost two years ago, when I was in London, I stepped into a magical store called & Other Stories.  I immediately fell in love, but at the time I couldn't afford anything in the store.  After arriving back home, I thought I would order something off their website, but alas, they didn't ship their products to the US.  I kept waiting, and it wasn't until recently when they finally started a US site (I have a post about it here).  I had forgotten that they opened a store in New York, so when I was there last month I was pleasantly surprised to stumble upon one!  Of course I wanted to buy the whole store, but I decided to just start with this amazing skirt.  I've been obsessed with two trends recently: neoprene and the midi skirt length; both of which this skirt has.  It's also amazing quality, so I will definitely be purchasing more from & Other Stories! <3
Styling this skirt, I deciding to do some pattern mixing.  First I picked the striped top, then I went for the leopard print ankle boots.  Because the patterns are so different, and I have the skirt separating them, I think they work incredibly well together.  I added my white leather jacket that I picked up at a small boutique in Paris and this new purse that I bought at Zara on my recent New York trip.  Finally I put on my purple lipstick because it had just been too long since I had last worn it.

Fashion U Day Two // OOTD

Wearing:
Hat - Vintage, Coat - Forever 21, Jumper - Target, Skirt - Zara, Tote - Target, Boots - Amazon

Looking back on these photos I'm questioning why I had that somewhat odd smile on my face, but oh well, can't go back and change it now.

After the first day of seminars at Fashion U were over, my mother and I headed back to our hotel where we found this adorable little park where we decided to take some photos (including a statue made to look like it was made of garbage bags).  The whole day had been rather rainy and gloomy, making it tougher to shoot the photos.

I spent a long time trying to decide what to where to Fashion U.  I knew that I was going to be around some of the best dressed girls in the world, so I had to bring my game.  I decided to stay true to what I always wear and wear lots of black.  Looking back, I probably would not have worn this jumper just because I underestimated how insanely hot it would be inside the building.  But I love the midi skirt that I wore; in fact, I had just picked it up at Zara the day before, which I consider a lucky find.  Finally I threw on my grandmother's old hat (a favorite of mine) and comfortable but cute ankle boots.  The tote I carried, I carried with me the whole trip - not just at Fashion U.  It held everything I needed so well, but most importantly my camera.

Tomorrow I'll post pictures from the final day of Fashion U, then I'll get to the photos from the rest of my trip (like visiting FIT, 5th Ave, and delicious restaurants).  If you have any questions about Fashion U, feel free to ask!  I'll do my best to answer! (:

Big Weekend

 Wearing:
Jumper - Target, Skirt - self made, Boots - DSW, Purse - Ross
Makeup
Eyes - Sephora It Palette Nude

I had a pretty big weekend (hence, the title of the post).  I traveled with my school to the state wide thespian festival, and we won!  So in June my school will be able to go to National festival.  However, that wasn't the highlight of my weekend: it was also my 18th birthday!  I'm now legally an adult; how exciting is that!
I wore this look on my birthday, as I always like to dress up in some way on the day.  It was surprisingly warm that day, so the tights really weren't that needed, but I thought they worked with the rest of the look.  I added the shoes last because I wasn't sure if I wanted to bring in another color or let the jumper be the sole color piece.  Eventually I put on these amazing velvet boots, which I felt worked amazingly with the color of the jumper.  I also wore my new favorite eye makeup from my Sephora palette; it has the perfect nude color.
