Adieu

Wearing:
Coat - Forever 21 | Skirt - Zara | Shirt - Primark | Boots - DSW | Purse - Clark's | Choker - self made

If you've been following me on my other social media platforms (pretty much just instagram), you would know that I've moved!  That's right, I'm no longer living in the Rocky Mountains, but rather London!  I am now officially a fashion student, living and studying in London, England.  I couldn't be more excited for what's to come!  These were the last photos I took before I moved, so I once again wanted to take pictures at my favorite shooting location.  The sun was pretty bright, but after moving around a few times, I found this nice spot.  Also, it was pretty cold, and if you look at my nose you can see that it was turning red (I called myself Rudolph for the rest of the night).  To celebrate it being my last night there, my mom and I went to our favorite pizza place then went home and watched a movie.  It was a great way to spend one of my final nights back home.
Anyway, I don't know how often I'll be able to post in the future, and I also have some changes coming (eventually), so stay tuned, and keep following me on instagram for more frequent and fun updates!

Le Premier de Juillet

Wearing:
Dress - Forever 21, Shoes - Clark's

Can you believe it's already July?  Where has this year gone?  It seems like only yesterday I was starting college.  Today was my first day of an internship at a wedding boutique!  Since it was my first day, I decided to dress up a bit.  I love this denim dress from Forever 21 because it can easily be dressed up or down.  Today I styled it with these Mary Janes that I bought when I was in London back in December.  As much as I love the style and the gold color (they remind me of something that would have been worn in the 1960s - my favorite decade), my favorite part is how comfy they are!  For as many shoes that I own, I don't have too many that are super comfortable.  But, because these shoes are made by Clarks, I can wear them all day long.  Finally I added a dash of this new Maybelline lipstick I recently picked up; a while ago I lost one of my favorite lipsticks, and I've been trying to replace it.  I like this color, but it's a little darker than what I was looking for.  Anyway, I had a great first day at the boutique, and I'm really excited to spend my summer there!

Trends My Mom Hates: Mom Jeans

Wearing:
Jeans - Topshop Mom Jeans, Jacket - Kohls, Blouse - Forever 21, Sneakers - Adidas, Bag - Oasis
Lipstick - L'Oreal Paris Infallible Pro-Matte Gloss in Statement Nude 316

Trends my mom hates strikes again!  If you don't remember, I started this tag a few months ago with this culottes post.  Well this time it's, ironically, mom jeans.  Thanks to other blogs, pinterest, and instagram, I've been eyeing this trend.  So many people are able to pull them off so well, that I gave in and asked for them for my birthday.  My mom was ambivalent, but luckily she's too nice to say that she doesn't like them.  But after knowing her for so long, though, I can tell these definitely aren't her favorite jeans, even if she won't say it directly.
Since the snow is already gone (but I have a sneaking suspicion that it will be coming back), I wanted to take advantage of it and wear my Adidas and a leather jacket, instead of boots and a heavier coat.  To keep the look rather classic, I went with a white button up half tucked in.  I also decided to switch  to my new tote bag that I bought in London because I liked the combination of the suede with the leather jacket.

Bright

Wearing:
Coat - Forever 21, Shirt - Forever 21, Jeans - BDG from Urban Outfitters, Sneakers - Adidas Superstars, Purse - Clark's

Okay, so I may have slightly over exposed these photos.  I've been experimenting with some of the features on my camera, and ultimately these are a bit bright.  I'm also noticing that I really need to iron my coat - I swear the crease wasn't this noticeable when I took the pictures!
Anyway, the snow has amazingly started to melt away, meaning that I can start breaking out some different shoes.  Lately I've just been dying to wear my Adidas again, so that's where I began this look.  It being a school day, I went relatively casual by just wearing my favorite black jeans and a grey button up.  I've recently acquired a number of new coats, but I love the color of this coat with the grey shirt.
Who else is excited for the Oscars this weekend?  I love the awards show itself, but the red carpet is my favorite part of the show.  I'm most excited to see what Alicia Vikander and Brie Larson will be wearing; they're newcomers this red carpet season, but so far they've been slaying the game!  Sometime between now and Sunday (the day of the awards), I'll be posting my Oscar dress predictions.  See you soon!

Back in Town

Coat - Forever 21, Shirt - Forever 21, Jeans - BDG from Urban Outfitters, Boots - Monki, Purse - Clarks
Lipstick - Bareminerals Marvelous Moxie in Make Your Move

While I was in London, I was on the search for two items: a nice grey coat and a long, camel coat.  I found a great grey coat at John Lewis, but I just couldn't find a camel coat that I really liked.  At one point, I found one at Whistles that I liked, but it was so expensive and not exactly what I wanted, so I just couldn't pull the trigger.  On the way home, my mom and I had a day and a half layover in Seattle.  While I was there, I just popped into Forever 21, and low and behold there it was: the camel coat.  The best part?  It was only $50, so much cheaper than the ones I found in London.  I guess this just goes to show, that you shouldn't exclude Forever 21 - I'm always able to find great pieces there!
Now that I'm back home, it's back to the daily grind.  There's about a foot of snow outside, and the temperature is often around 10 degrees (Fahrenheit), but oh well, it's not surprising for here.  Just one more semester here, and maybe I'll be lucky enough to be living in London this time next year.

Look Kids, Big Ben!

Wearing:
Coat - Forever 21, Jumper - JCPenny, Skirt - Zara, Boots - Candies (Kohls), Tote - Oasis, Gloves - Target

Back in the swing of things!  This week I started back at school, so I'm now officially in my second semester at university!  In other news, though, I've also officially sent in my transfer applications to universities in the UK!  I'm so excited, but first I have to wait.
Even though I'm back at school, I still have tons of London photos that I want to share!  My mom and I stopped by Big Ben on Christmas Eve; we didn't go inside Parliament or anything, but we took lots of pictures on the bridge and by the river.  It was incredibly windy and made me regret wearing a skirt.  There were multiple occasions, especially when I was right by the river, when I felt like I was going to have a Marilyn moment.  It also became very cold, and as you can see in some of the above photos, I had to put on gloves.  At least I was wearing a warm jumper!
Even though I was cold, seeing Big Ben was a great way to spend Christmas Eve.  I still have some London posts left, so stay tuned!
(Oh, also I hope you like the joke I made in the title; if you don't get it, it's just a reference to the movie European Vacation.)

Slow Down

Wearing
Dress - Forever 21, Shirt - Forever 21, Boots - Kohls
Eyeshadow - Smashbox Sample from Sephora

Long time no see, am I right?  I didn't realize just how busy I was until I saw that it had been over a month since I posted!  The reason that I'm so busy is because I actually don't have any finals during finals week but before.  At my school, finals week is right now, but for me, I had to do almost everything last week.  In a sense I was lucky because I only had one exam (and it wasn't even cumulative), but I had a ton of projects.  So for the past two weeks, I had to give a Pecha Kucha presentation (if you don't know what this is, you are incredibly lucky), turn in my photography final, and finish my drawing final.  It ended up being very overwhelming to get everything done and handed in in this amount of time.
For this look, I was clearly channeling the 1970s.  Even though it was warmer than it had been the past few days, I still got pretty chilly wearing thing (as seen by my red nose in the last picture).  I was especially cold after in the evening as I went to see a local performance of "White Christmas."  I ended up wearing my coat through the entire second act.  All in all, though, I really like the look of this layer from the turtleneck and the dress.  I know I'll be wearing this look again.

Oh, wondering about this title?  Two things: 1) 2015 has gone so fast!  Who can believe that it's already December?  and 2)  A car from the parking lot was driving way too fast and almost hit my photographer (a.k.a my mom)!  It was especially unsafe considering how icy the roads are right now!
