Puff Puff

Wearing:
Coat - H&M | Shirt - Forever 21 | Jeans - BDG from Urban Outfitters | Boots - Monki

What do subzero temperatures mean for dressing?  It means you finally have buy that puffer jacket.  Sure, I actually didn't mind as I think the puffer jacket can look really cool.  But if it's not done right, it can look light you're on your way to the ski lifts.  Luckily I was able to find this cool on on the H&M holiday clearance.  For only $25, it's surprisingly warm.  However, as much as I love oversized clothes, sometimes this feels a bit too big.  I just found it surprising because normally H&M tends to run a bit small.  Looking back, I probably didn't need to size up.
Since I mainly wanted to show off my new coat, I kept the rest of the look very minimal, while also keeping warm.  So, I just stuck to my fave black and white turtleneck (that's unfortunately developing holes - no!!), my black skinny jeans, incredibly warm socks, and boots that actually work well in snow.  Add a touch of lipstick, and you're good to go in the winter.

Freezing

Wearing:
Jacket - Target | Blouse - H&M | Jeans - Topshop | Belt - Asos | Shoes - Public Desire | Purse - Clark's

Happy New Year everyone!  Here I am with my first post of 2017!  I had a wonderful, lowkey Christmas, and a nice family filled New Year's.  I haven't posted much anywhere recently, as I've been enjoying spending time with family while also finishing up some school projects.  I don't go back to London for another week or so, but I had some semester deadlines this week.  I had to ship one project all the way from the US to the UK, and communicate on another project where the group members are located all across the world.  It's been a bit of an exhausting week, but it looks like everything is close to finished now.
I'm still obsessing over these Public Desire flatforms that I got for Christmas and just love wearing them... despite their difficulty of walking in the snow.  I also made the very poor decision of wearing this rather light jacket when it was only 3°F (-16°C).  I even took the jacket off!  What was I thinking?  It really shouldn't be surprising that I might be getting a sore throat when I decide to not a coat in these temperatures.  Luckily, I finally bought myself a puffer jacket (thanks H&M clearance!), so now I can be warm!!

Poor Choice of Shoes

Wearing:
Coat - gifted, Shirt - Primark, Jeans - BDG from Urban Outfitters, Boots - Steve Madden
Lipstick - M.A.C Red with Cherry Lip Liner

I love my leopard print boots - I really do.  However, they are probably one of the worst choices of shoes for winter.  These shoes have a very smooth bottom, making them almost impossible to wear when it's icy out, so usually I put them away sometime in November and don't bring them back out until April (yes, I really have to wait that long).  But when I put the rest of this outfit together, I knew that these leopard boots looked best with this brown coat and black jeans.  Ultimately, I didn't wear these boots to school; I've tripped one too many times on campus wearing more practical shoes than these.  But I put them on for the photos and ventured through the snow and ice.  I had to walk super slowly and take small steps, but I luckily didn't fall.  I'm hoping that this year the snow will melt early, and I'll be able to bring these back out in March!

Camel is the New Black

Wearing:
Jumper - New Look, Pinafore (worn as a Skirt) - Boohoo, Sneakers - Adidas, Bag - Oasis
Lipstick - L'Oreal Paris Infallible Pro-Matte Gloss in Nude Allude

If someone were to ask what my favorite color is, after black, white, and grey, I might just have to say camel.  This color is a great neutral and is being seen everywhere thanks to the 1970s trend revival.  After my recent trip to England, I picked up a few more camel pieces - including this jumper.  Obviously I love the color of this, but I'm also obsessed with the neckline; it's not quite a turtle neck, but it's higher than a traditional round neck making it perfect for winter.  I paired this jumper with my denim pinafore but instead attempted layering the jumper over the pinafore, giving it the appearance of a skirt.  Finally I tossed on my Adidas, which ended up not being the best choice of shoes given the snow.

Back in Town

Coat - Forever 21, Shirt - Forever 21, Jeans - BDG from Urban Outfitters, Boots - Monki, Purse - Clarks
Lipstick - Bareminerals Marvelous Moxie in Make Your Move

While I was in London, I was on the search for two items: a nice grey coat and a long, camel coat.  I found a great grey coat at John Lewis, but I just couldn't find a camel coat that I really liked.  At one point, I found one at Whistles that I liked, but it was so expensive and not exactly what I wanted, so I just couldn't pull the trigger.  On the way home, my mom and I had a day and a half layover in Seattle.  While I was there, I just popped into Forever 21, and low and behold there it was: the camel coat.  The best part?  It was only $50, so much cheaper than the ones I found in London.  I guess this just goes to show, that you shouldn't exclude Forever 21 - I'm always able to find great pieces there!
Now that I'm back home, it's back to the daily grind.  There's about a foot of snow outside, and the temperature is often around 10 degrees (Fahrenheit), but oh well, it's not surprising for here.  Just one more semester here, and maybe I'll be lucky enough to be living in London this time next year.

Slow Down

Wearing
Dress - Forever 21, Shirt - Forever 21, Boots - Kohls
Eyeshadow - Smashbox Sample from Sephora

Long time no see, am I right?  I didn't realize just how busy I was until I saw that it had been over a month since I posted!  The reason that I'm so busy is because I actually don't have any finals during finals week but before.  At my school, finals week is right now, but for me, I had to do almost everything last week.  In a sense I was lucky because I only had one exam (and it wasn't even cumulative), but I had a ton of projects.  So for the past two weeks, I had to give a Pecha Kucha presentation (if you don't know what this is, you are incredibly lucky), turn in my photography final, and finish my drawing final.  It ended up being very overwhelming to get everything done and handed in in this amount of time.
For this look, I was clearly channeling the 1970s.  Even though it was warmer than it had been the past few days, I still got pretty chilly wearing thing (as seen by my red nose in the last picture).  I was especially cold after in the evening as I went to see a local performance of "White Christmas."  I ended up wearing my coat through the entire second act.  All in all, though, I really like the look of this layer from the turtleneck and the dress.  I know I'll be wearing this look again.

Oh, wondering about this title?  Two things: 1) 2015 has gone so fast!  Who can believe that it's already December?  and 2)  A car from the parking lot was driving way too fast and almost hit my photographer (a.k.a my mom)!  It was especially unsafe considering how icy the roads are right now!

And So It's Here

Wearing:
Coat - Forever 21, Shirt - Forever 21, Jeans - Urban Outfitters BDG Super High Rise,  Sneakers - Adidas Superstars

Snow.  It's here.  Yesterday it snowed about four inches, which really isn't too bad, but I am always disappointed when the snow starts (I really don't care for snow until December).  However this is not the case for most people in my town; I live in a huge ski town (huge in the sense that over 90% of my town skis).  So when the first snow falls everyone is getting out their skis, even if only a couple inches fell.  I, for one, have never skied in my life and don't intend to start.  So while everyone else is racing off to the slopes, I'm mourning the fact that I can't wear a majority of my shoes anymore.
I based this outfit around the shirt (which, because of the coat, you actually can't see it too well).  I bought it from Forever 21 a while ago, but I had trouble styling it because it's so long and voluminous.  After trying combination after combination, I finally realized that I needed to stop over thinking it; so I eventually decided to just pair it with some simple blue, skinny jeans.  For shoes I decided on my Adidas, but looking back, they ended up getting pretty dirty because of all the puddles of snow and ice right now.  Finally I threw on my grey coat and some gold eye shadow.

Sorry for the lack of outfit posts recently; it seems like midterms just ended and now I'm busy again with final projects!  But the end of the semester is just around the corner!  Winter break here I come!

Wait... Snow?!

Wearing:
Coat - Forever 21, Jumper - Vince Camuto, Jeans - Topshop, Boots - Dr. Martens, Hat - Target, Scarf - unknown
Lipstick - M.A.C Red with Cherry Liner

These are forgotten photos from January, right?
Wrong.
Last week it snowed, like hard core snowed.  It went went being about 70 degrees to a foot of snow in 24 hours.  It was ridiculous.  However, since I do seem to be having a hard time giving up my jumpers and cardigans, this gave me one more chance to wear all of my warm clothes.
I recently discovered this scarf that was buried deep inside my coat closet; to be honest, I have no recollection of this scarf, but my mom insists that I've had it for years.  Basing the look around that, I decided to keep to greys, whites, and blacks so the pastel blue would pop.  My Vince Camuto jumper is always a go-to of mine when it's chilly, so I paired that with my high waist Topshop jeans and my favorite grey coat.  Since there was about a foot of snow, my Docs were one of my few options (I really should have more snow friendly shoes seeing that it does snow for about six months of the year where I live).  After putting the look together, the blue just wasn't enough of a pop; the red lip was the perfect addition.  Finally I threw on a hat because it was actually cold outside.
The "perks" of living here; it can snow literally anytime of the year.  Luckily the locals are used to it since the next day kids still came to school wearing shorts.
