By the River

Wearing:
Jacket - H&M | Dress - WhoWhatWear for Target | Sneakers - Adidas | Bag - Oasis

Hello everyone!  Just a quick post for today; I didn't have class today, so some of my friends and I wandered down to the river and walked along the Millennium Bridge.  I love this bridge for many reasons, the obvious being that it has a gorgeous view of St. Paul's cathedral; but for Harry Potter fans, you'll recognize this as the bridge that the death eaters destroy at the beginning of The Half Blood Prince movie!  All I wanted to do was to pose on the bridge like it was being destroyed, but I had to restrain myself!
I wore a long dress and a leather jacket and was surprisingly warm.  My friends gave me a hard time for not wearing any tights with my dress, but that's just my Montana roots coming through (we can deal with the cold exceptionally well).  My hands, though, were freezing!  Next time I'll be sure to bring gloves!

Trends My Mom Hates: Fishnets

Wearing:
Jacket - H&M | Dress - Forever 21 | Shirt - Boohoo | Boots - Asos | Tights - Asos | Bag - Oasis | Belt - Target

Alright, too be perfectly honest, I'm not entirely sure if this is a trend that my mom hates since I no longer see her everyday.  That being said, knowing her for almost 20 years, I can almost guarantee that she probably doesn't care for it.  When I first saw the trend myself a few months back on instagram, I wasn't entirely sold on it either.  But some of my friends based in New York were really rocking it, then I moved to London and a few of my new friends here have worn them as well.  I still wasn't sure on it, but then I actually needed to buy them for a school project I was working on (yes, really).  Once they were in my hand, I knew that I just had to try the trend too, and what do you know?  I kinda loved it.  They're surprisingly comfortable and kept my legs warmer than I thought they would.  Unfortunately, they already have a hole in the toe after only one and a half wears (the half a wear is from my project), but I'm going to try and keep wearing them until they get too uncomfortable on the toes.
For this look, I really wanted to incorporate my new leather jacket.  Is it really leather?  Definitely not; I got it from H&M for £20 (I got it for half price - score!).  However, I'm in love with it and can't take it off.  Because it's nearing winter, I paired the jacket and tights with short-sleeved denim dress with a turtleneck layered underneath for an extra bit of warmth.  Finally I decided on my new Chelsea boots, as they're a classic that can be paired with almost anything.  I wanted to go rather subtle when styling these fishnets because they can easily go very racy - a look I would like to avoid.
In other news, I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving yesterday.  Since I'm London, I didn't really celebrate it, but I am having a Friends-giving tonight that I'm really looking forward to.  It's been a lot of fun introducing my new English friends to American traditions.

Hit Play

Wearing:
Jacket - Zara | Shirt - Macy's | Jeans - BDG (Urban Outfitters) | Bag - Oasis | Boots - Monki

Look who's back!  Well I've taken a month off from blogging, and I'll tell you, I've missed it so much!  But also, for those of you who are familiar with this blog, I'm sure this looks a lot different!  Welcome to "Wear She's Gone," a fashion and travel blog.  As I said in my last post, I just didn't think that the name "Rockin' the Rockies Style" suited this blog anymore; I'll always be from the Rocky Mountains, and I don't want to forget that part of me, but now I've grown and moved on from there.  London is my new home for at least the next few years, and I can't wait to explore every part of it.  I've also updated my Instagram handle to @itselizabethclaire.  It's still rather long, but I have a rather long name.
I just want to thank everyone again for staying with me.  I'm not sure exactly how often I'll be able to update (I'm still a fulltime student).  But let me just say, I'm loving all the changes going on in my life.  I was so nervous about everything before I left, but I can 100% say that I have zero regrets.
If you have any questions, or just want to chat, leave your comments below!  I'd love to hear from you!

Pause

Wearing:
Jacket - Zara | Shirt - WhoWhatWear for Target | Jeans - Topshop Mom Jeans | Sneakers - Adidas | Bag - Oasis

So I think I'm going to take a break from this blog for a little while.  Don't get me wrong; I love blogging, and I love this blog, but I just have so many changes going on in my life right now (moving to London, starting school, etc.), I really need to get settled here.  I also think it's time for a bit of re-branding.  Now that I'm not living in the Rocky Mountains anymore, I'm not sure if this title still works.  I'm not going to tell you my new title now - that's going to be a surprise - but this will be my last "Rockin' the Rockies Style" post.  When I start blogging again, I still plan on having all of my old posts being available, but my url and title will change.  I wish I could tell you when I'll be blogging again, but I can't because I'm not sure either.  Remember, this is not goodbye; this is just a pause.  Thanks for staying with me.

Rainy

Wearing:
Blouse - H&M | Jacket - Mudd | Jeans - BDG (Urban Outfitters) | Boots - Zara | Purse - Clarks

Looking at these photos, it really made me realize that I need to get my roots done.  Luckily, I have an appointment for Wednesday, but it just can't come soon enough!
Is anyone else ecstatic that it's finally fall?  Well I suppose that it technically isn't fall until the 22nd, but the weather has already started getting cooler.  Summer is always fun, but I'd much rather wear long sleeves, coats, and boots.  For example, I bought this shirt at the end of May, but I've only been able to wear a couple of times because it's just been far too hot for long sleeves.  Despite me not wearing it often, it has already catapulted to the top of my favorite shirts.  I love the ruffles and the color, even though I sometimes feel like Raggedy Ann when I wear it.  I originally was going to wear a skirt with this blouse, but after seeing the rain that idea went immediately out the window.  Instead I opted for my black skinny jeans and my camel ankle boots.  I used to be someone who was very opposed to the black and brown combo, but I've definitely been loving wearing these boots with all of the black in my wardrobe.

Shine

Wearing:
Jacket - Forever 21 | Blouse - Princess Vera Wang | Trousers - Jennifer Lopez for Kohls | Heels - Seychelles | Purse - Clarks | Choker - self made

Boy was it bright when I took these pictures.  Because of the brightness, it really made my hair shine.  Initially I didn't want to wear my sunglasses for these photos, but because of just how bright it was, my eyes were literally watering without them.  I don't know about you, but I have super light-sensitive eyes, so I'm constantly wearing my sunglasses.  I sometimes like to joke that when I get married (many, many years from from now), my husband will not just be marrying me but also my sunglasses.  That being said, I managed to keep them off for a few of the photos, and I really like the way they turned out.
I recently bought a new lens for my camera, and I think it's making a real difference on how my photos are looking.  In my personal opinion, I think my photos look a lot more professional now.  I have also been trying to find more interesting places to take my photos than just my drive way; I've really been enjoying this parking garage that's downtown.  What do you think about the new look of my photos?
Regarding my outfit, I've been searching for the perfect look to go with this choker.  My mom made it for me when she made a number of my other ones; I love this one, but at almost two inches wide, it can be difficult to style it just by how overpowering it can be.  I eventually decided on this tank because of how thin the straps are.  I thought the thin straps contrasted will with the thickness of the choker.  To keep the choker the center piece of the look, I just added simple black trousers and silver sandals (which, by the way, are the sandals I wore with my silver slip dress at my cousin's wedding, which I wasn't able to get a picture of that day; that post can be found here).  The jacket I added last minute because it was just so windy, I thought for sure I'd be too cold without it.

Dog Days

Wearing:
Jumpsuit - Missguided | Jacket - Mudd | Sneakers - Adidas Superstars | Purse - Clark's | Belt - Target

While I was in Portland, I was able to see my aunt and uncle who brought their dog with them.  Terrence, the dog's name, is a real lovebug, and I just adore seeing him.  On our last night in Portland, we all went out to dinner (even Terrence), and afterwards walked back to our hotel.  On our way back. I decided that I just needed to take some pictures with Terrence because who doesn't love pictures with dogs?
A couple of weeks ago I ordered this jumpsuit from Missguided.  I've been a fan of the culotte trend for a while now, but I find it hard to find a shape that suites me.  The last time culottes made an appearance on here was one of my 'Trends My Mom Hates' posts (luckily I think my mom has grown on the trend a bit).  I prefer culottes that are made from a thicker fabric and hold their shape; this jumpsuit does just that.  To keep it casual, I paired it with my Adidas and a leather jacket.  After such a busy wedding weekend, no one was really wanting to put in a ton of effort into their clothes.  I wore this jumpsuit to a family brunch earlier in the day, and I was probably the most dressed up... even though I was going for casual.
This is my last Portland post.  I wish I had been able to take more pictures, but I was just so busy because of the wedding that I didn't have time.  But I hope you enjoyed these posts, none the less!

Dial C for Chokers

Wearing:
Choker - Self made, Jacket - Mudd, Shirt - Thakoon for Kohls, Jeans - BDG (Urban Outfitters), Sandals - Target, Purse - Clarks

Is anyone else choker obsessed?  I'm sure you are, as they're a major trend at the moment!  Only a week ago I didn't own a single one, but now I have five!  Where I live, there aren't a ton of places that sell them; my options were to either buy them online or purchase them at Claire's.  I found the selection not to be the best at Claire's, and I'm also too cheap to pay for shipping for a $5 necklace.  Not pleased with my options, my mother generously offered a third one: she would make one for me.  So we ventured to the fabric store, bought four different types of ribbon, and she happily made five different chokers for me.  Thanks, Mom!
As I like to remind my friends any family, they're not just a trend from the 1990s, but also a trend from the 1790s!  Chokers have actually been popular pretty consistently throughout history, and now they're once again back.  Today, I did style my choker with other trends from the 1990s rather than the 1790s (I found it hard to find a historically accurate dress) by adding my platform sandals and nude lipstick.  As someone who was once a self-proclaimed hater of 1990s fashion, right now I'm definitely on board with all of the trends coming from that decade!
