Prom!  To be honest, I was rather nervous about going to prom.  Last year I went to the homecoming dance, and that was so incredibly boring!  And to be honest, if it wasn't for the group of people I was with, Prom would have boring too.  I just not a school dance person.  I had much more fun taking pictures, going to dinner before hand, Perkins after prom, then the After Prom party!  At my school, After Prom is a school sponsored party that ran from 12 a.m. to 4 a.m. that has lots of fun games, like bounce houses and laser tag, and lots and lots of prizes, like ipads and TVs.  Unfortunately I didn't win anything, but it was still incredibly fun!
The dress I ended up wearing was my back up dress because my original dress I ordered didn't arrive until last week!  In a way, it worked out ok because the theme of prom was 1920s, and this dress looks much more of the era than the other one.  As it turns out, I was the only person who dressed to the theme at all.  Honestly I'm not surprised.  Most girls go with the typical all-american prom dress: bright and floor length.  But I decided to go all out for the '20s theme.  This dress I wore was perfect for the theme; it has a perfect shape and length for the era.  I decided that my accent color would be gold (the original theme was black and gold since the first dress was black), so I found some great gold accessories that worked well for the theme.  I also found some pearl accessories that really added to the overall look.  The shoes worked really well for prom as they are both cute and comfortable; I could have lasted all night in the shoes... if I had remembered to brake them in before prom.  I ended up getting about five or so blisters by the end of the night.  I found the clutch at a local thrift shop, and I felt that it has a really nice art deco flair.  Then for makeup I went with a deep red lip and just a little gold eyeliner and mascara.
Sorry I didn't post these photos sooner!  For Memorial Day weekend I visited Fort Collins and Denver in Colorado, and I was gone for five days.  These pictures are on my computer, and I ended up not bringing my computer along.  Hopefully, now that I'm back home, I can start posting again!  I'll post a haul of the clothes I bought while I was down there soon.
