Exmouth Coast

Wearing:
Top - WhoWhatWear for Target | Jeans - BDG | Shoes - Pull & Bear | Sunglasses - River Island

Guilty: this is the same outfit from the last post.  I was originally intending on making this one and the last one big post, but ultimately I decided that it would look better as two separate ones; it would have looked too cluttered otherwise.

I was so excited to go to the coast, as I hadn't been to a beach in at least two years.  Exmouth was only about a 20 minute train ride from Exeter, and you could tell that it was the place to be as lots of families also boarded the train with all of their beach toys.  I didn't have my swimsuit with me, so I could only dip my toes in the water, but it ended up being for the best as the water was far too cold to actually swim in.  Still, my friend Ash and I just sat on the beach and enjoyed a bit of people watching.  We walked along the water searching for sea glass and shells; beaches are such a contrast to where we're both from that we were really just enjoying all of the small details about it.  Overall, there was something about Exmouth that reminded me of West Seattle; both have lots of sea glass, water that's too cold to actually swim in, and the sense that rain could begin at any moment.  In fact, it was overcast for most of the day, but I still managed to get a nasty sunburn.  Ash and I ended our short visit in Exmouth by getting ice cream, which then proceeded to immediately melt all over me and make it look like I was actually a toddler who doesn't know how to properly eat food.  It was tasty before it melted, though.  We went back to Exeter that evening where we had a great dinner at Urban Burger.  Despite the mess the ice cream made and the uncomfortable sunburn I received, it was still a great first day to a fun holiday.
