Nyhavn

 Wearing:
Dress - Zara | Sneakers - Adidas | Bag - Clarks

How has it almost been a month since I was in Copenhagen?  I fell in love with this beautiful port city, and I genuinely can't wait to go back one day.

Before I went, I had done some research regarding the weather there.  From what I could find, it sounded like it would be warm with some cooler days thrown in.  With that in mind, I packed summer clothes, but I also threw in a jacket and jumpers just in case.  It turns out those were very unnecessary.  The five days we were there it was very hot; the only times I wore my jacket was when I was going to and from the airport because I couldn't fit it in my suitcase.  In fact, even this dress became too hot to wear.  When I first put it on, I thought it would be fine in the heat as I wasn't wearing tights and it was made from a light material.  Cut to halfway through the day: I've already run out of my second water bottle of the day and the dress has become unbearably hot.  Eventually I had to roll-up the sleeves and undo the top few buttons near the collar.  It ended up fine though, as after touring Rosenborg Castle, we found ourselves at a park with plenty of shade.  It was so relaxing to just sit on the grass for an hour or so and just people watch.
My Adidas also ended up being a smart choice; Copenhagen is an incredibly walkable city, and my friend Penny and I did tons of it.  These are probably the most comfortable pair of shoes I own, so I recommend you do the same when going to this city.

If you couldn't guess, these photos were taken early in the day before I sweat through everything.  The Nyhavn is a lovely harbor with brightly colored buildings (although, back in the day it was where sailors would visit women of the night).  Of everywhere we went in Copenhagen, this was definitely the place most crowded with tourists.  That being said, there are still plenty of places with an ample amount of photo opportunities.  The further down the Nyhavn you walk, the fewer people there tend to be.

I have a few more Copenhagen posts coming up, so stay tuned!
