California on Film

In the last year or so, I've rediscovered my love for film photography.  I started working with film when I was in high school, and after seeing a few other blogs and instagrams showcase film, I decided to try my hand at it again.  My recent trip to California was a great time to try it out again.  I used a combination of two cameras: the Olympus OM-II and the Olympus Stylus.  The OM-II is what is the style of film camera that I've used in the past, and has a lot more control over shutter speed and aperture.  The Stylus, on the other hand, is a small point and shoot.  It took me a while to get used to that one - just because I like having more control over the functions - but I grew to love its size and convenience.
These photos were taken during various parts of the holiday, including my visit to the Museum of Ice Cream that I thoroughly enjoyed.  I was so excited to capture it on film when I saw the pink walls.  However, I also took some shots at a beach near where we stayed for a few days close to Watsonville.    This black dress that I wore became a favorite of mine while I was in California, and it wasn't until I returned home that I realized that I didn't capture this dress on any other camera, so I was very pleased to see that these photos turned out.

Overall, I'm really pleased with house these photos turned out, and I'm really excited to play more with my cameras.
