Buckingham Palace

Sometimes I forget I live in London.  My day to day life is mainly focused on uni (and Netflix, let's not lie to ourselves....), and since I don't live right in central London I don't always see the sights as often as I should.  I try to make a rule for myself to go into central at least once a week; what I do doesn't really matter, as long as I feel I'm making the most of my experience living here.  But during the height of the semester, it can sometimes be hard to find the time to have a day in London.  Anyone else feel the same?
A few weeks back, I was able to find a reason to come to the Green Park area for a project, and it ended up being the perfect fall day.  The air was crisp and the leaves were that gorgeous shade of orange.  I took some pictures of the park on my film camera, and I'll post those pictures soon.  But my friend and I also just stopped in front of Buckingham Palace.  Though we're not tourists, it's fun to sometimes stop by these iconic locations and appreciate why they're so popular.
This day was also the first day I've properly broken out these trousers since hemming them.  I picked up these bad boys in the Mango sale back in the summer, but they were embarrassingly too long.  I first attempted the humble hem tape, and excitedly wore these to work during my internship.  Less than an hour into the day, the hem tape failed and I had to walk around the rest of the day with paper clips holding up the remainder of the non-existent "hem."  Back in the closet they went until I visited California for a few weeks this summer, and I was lucky enough to have a family member actually stitch these up for me.  Now that they're all fixed up, I can stop wearing them.  Though it's a bit hard to tell in these photos, they have fun, white stitching that contrasts against red-ish/orange of the trousers.  They're also a completely different shape than I normally go for, but now I'm 100% sold!  I'm sure you'll be seeing these plenty of more times in the future, and I already know that the beret will return soon (sorry not sorry)!
