SAGS Best Dressed | 2017

As awards season progresses, the more excited I become.  I just love seeing how a celebrity's style evolves throughout the season, especially if they're a newcomer.  The red carpet definitely had a lot of highs, and the only real negative was the fact the Ruth Negga wasn't there.  I don't have as many favorite looks this time compared to my Golden Globes post, but I just couldn't find any after party looks.  So, here's my official best dressed for the 2017 SAGS.

EVAN RACHEL WOOD | ALTUZARRA
She is just killing it with the suit.  And when I look at this one, I just can't help bursting into, "She wore blue velvet..." (although I'm sure everyone else does this too).  The fit is absolute perfection, and it's a completely different shape to the last suit she wore - reinventing the great style.

THANDI NEWTON | SCHIAPARELLI COUTURE
This was the wow moment for the night.  It's one of those dresses where I'm sure it'll be heavily divided between lovers and haters, but I am definitely a lover.  I've always been a fan of tea length dresses, so of course I was going to like this.  The detailing on this is immaculate, and the asymmetrical sleeve is the perfect last touch.

EMMA STONE | ALEXANDER McQUEEN
IMO, Emma Stone just can't do wrong.  I will admit, I loved her Golden Globes gown more, but the design of this is just so unique while still being feminine.  I mean, who else do you know who can pull off a dress that looks like it's partially falling off?

MAISIE WILLIAMS | ???
Okay, I cannot find the designer of this dress for the life of me.  If any of you know the designer, please let me know in the comments!  Anyway, I love the combination of the old Hollywood glamour of the dress and the modern, ultra dark lipstick.

CLAIRE FOY | VALENTINO
Once again, I'm in love with what Claire Foy's wearing.  It's so light and airy, while also being 1960s/70s retro.  It also helps that the dress is two of my favorite colors.

KIRSTEN DUNST | CHRISTIAN DIOR
I feel like I haven't seen Kirsten Dunst on a red carpet for a long time, so I was pleasantly surprised seeing her rocking Dior.  The white dress is ethereal, but my favorite aspect of the look is her hair and makeup; the matte red lip and soft waves looked perfect, and I think that red lipstick was very under worn on the red carpet.  Also, I'm so happy to see someone wearing one of Maria Grazia Chiuri's new designs for Dior.

YARA SHAHIDI | NAEEM KHAN
Yara is only 16 years old, but she is out dressing some experienced red carpet dressers.  This Naeem Khan number is fun and colorful, while still being completely age appropriate.  She was even voted best dressed on E!'s Fashion Police!

NAOMIE HARRIS | LANVIN
Who doesn't love a good jumpsuit.  In fact, when I first saw this look I thought it was a longline dress, so I was pleasantly surprised to see it was actually pants.  My mom thought that this look was a bit too casual for the SAGS, but I think her accessories make it awards appropriate.  I'm also a sucker for a good stripe.

BONUS:
RAMI MALEK | DIOR
Normally menswear can be boring, especially for a red carpet.  Or you have the complete opposite problem where the guy is trying way too hard, and you just end up with a mess.  So when I saw Rami show up in this, I just thought it was one of most memorable menswear looks I had seen in a long time.  I adore the pattern, and the black tie against the black shirt is the perfect finish.

So what do you think of my best dressed lists?  I'm enjoying writing them, and I think it's a nice break from outfit posts.  Let me know in the comments!  :)
