YSL Exhibition

On our second day in Paris, we spent the entire day going to fashion exhibitions.  The first exhibition we went to was the Christian Dior exhibition at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs.  It celebrates the 70th anniversary of the House of Dior, and looks at its beginnings and follows its journey with the succeeding designers.  None of my photos from there really turned out, but I will say that if you're in Paris before January 8th of this coming year, go see it!  It holds original Christian Dior pieces alongside modern looks by the current designer Maria Grazia Chiuri.
This exhibition is huge, which actually caused all of us to fall behind schedule and nearly miss our time slot at the Yves Saint Laurent exhibition.  Musée Yves Saint Laurent is a new museum dedicated to showing the work of its namesake designer.  It's located in the building where Yves Saint Laurent spent his life designing. There you can see many of his designs, sketches, his studio space, and watch a short film on his close relationship with Pierre Bergé.

You really can't go to Paris without going to some museums, so if you feel like you've already seen the standard ones, these exhibitions should be at the top of your list!
