Guten Tag from Vienna! Or, at least, I was in Vienna. Needless to say, it's been a busy past few months. If you had told me back in March that it would be nearly two months before posting on here again... I probably would have believed you. If you didn't know, I'm currently in my final year of university. Just today - literally today - I handed in my last ever project. I've been working on a few projects for my classes, including my dissertation. Clearly that took over my life for a far too long, but hopefully (fingers crossed) it all turns out well. Then three weeks ago, an old friend from Montana came and visited me for about two weeks. During that time, we went to Austria! Well, weeks later, here I am finally with new content!
Vienna was a place I'd been wanting to visit for about a year. Then last summer my cousin went there and had nothing but great things to say about it. Less than a month before going, I booked it (which for me is pretty last minute). I'm going to do another post soon which will be a guide to the city - including where I stayed, where I ate, and what I did, but let me tell you now that the Vienna Pass (not the Vienna Card) is 100% worth it. It allowed my friend and me to do so many things, and I completely fell in love with the city. We also completely lucked out whilst we there in terms of weather. We learned that Vienna and Salzburg (which we also visited) is often under rain, but there was nothing but blue skies while I was there. In fact, I even got a sunburn!
These pictures were taken in Karlsplatz Square - one of the largest squares in the city. The building seen in the photos was formerly a metro station but is now split into both a cafe and a small museum about the architect of the station. There was lots of outdoor seating at the cafe, which made for a perfect dessert break in our day, as Vienna is known for their desserts after all.
Since it turned out to be so sunny and warm, this blazer was not at all needed! Though I kept it on throughout the first part of the day, by the time we made it to The Belvedere (you can see a picture of me there on my Instagram), I stuffed it in my already far too packed tote bag - my shoulder was not keen to forgive me. Despite the heat, I did love the outfit. I received the blazer for Christmas, and just recently I caved and bought this crossbody that I featured in my Spring Wishlist a few months back. Though it's a bit smaller than I first expected, the bag has actually been a great size for travel, and I've really enjoyed having the shorter strap on it so I can keep it closer to my side.
Stay tuned for more of my travel posts coming soon. I know I say this far too often, but this time I really do have time to write and post more! Also exciting: I have more travels coming up really soon! So follow me on Instagram to see my travels in real time!
