Hello again! I hope everyone had a 4th of July (or if you don't celebrate it, I hope you had a nice weekend). Well, after my class in Portland my mom and I drove up to Seattle. Though our visit there was rather short, I love any chance I get to go to Seattle.
I decided to wear one of my new-ish dresses. Being in Seattle there was a very good chance of rain (which it, in fact, did), so I wore my red Michael Kors rain coat. Since the coat is red with gold hardware, I paired my red with gold hardware ankle boots. Even though it was a bit chilly while it what raining, before and after the rain the weather perfect (other than the wind near the pier as you can probably tell by my hair from the photos).
While in Seattle, I visited the Art Institute of Seattle campus. My mom and I were supposed to go on the official tour of the campus, but the traffic from Portland wasn't great... and we got a bit lost finding the campus. We ended up being 40 minutes late, but luckily the people at the campus are incredibly nice, and they gave us a private tour. That campus is so beautiful. It would be amazing to be able to go there, however the price tag is rather steep.
After the tour my mom and I went for lunch. My mom enjoyed salmon tacos because surprise, surprise we don't have many Pacific salmon in the land locked Rocky Mountains. Then after lunch, we did one of my favorite things: shopping! We stopped by some of my favorite places, H&M, City Target, and Nordstrom. At Nordstrom I picked up that card which I have pictured above (if you follow me on instagram you've probably already seen this). I just thought it was incredibly hilarious, yet still classic.
That weekend was also the weekend of Seattle's gay pride parade. Though I wasn't able to see the parade on Sunday, the day before I was able to snap this photo of the pride flag on the top of the Starbucks building. Maybe next year I'll be able to attend the parade.
I was really only able to spend a day in downtown Seattle. The next day my mom and I went to DSW and Ikea, two of my favorite stores that I only get to go to when I'm on vacation. My favorite part about going to Ikea is eating in there cafe! After going to those stores we left for Ellensburg, our final stop on my college road trip.
