Day of Independence

Wearing:
Cardigan - Target, Crop top - H&M, Skirt - H&M, Ankle boots - boohoo, Rings - H&M

Happy 4th of July!  This has always been one of my favorite holidays, mainly because of all of the fireworks.  I also just have so many found memories of past years.  This year I decided to go a bit more "in your face" by wearing red, white, and blue.  I was actually rather surprised that I was able to pair all three colors without looking tacky.  I was pleased to remember that my new skirt and crop top combo that I recently purchased in Denver is a navy and white gingham pattern, perfect for the occasion.  I then paired it with my favorite red ankle boots.  I wasn't going to wear a cardigan with it, as it has been incredibly hot all week.  However, moments before I was going to take pictures it started pouring!  The wind was howling and the raindrops were as big as coins.  Luckily, it only lasted about 15 minutes.  Though it was beautiful and perfect the rest of the day and night, I brought my red cardy with me.  I finished the look off with my new gold rings (that are going to be featured in my Portland and Seattle haul).
My family and I climbed to the top of our local hill (along with about half the town) to watch the fireworks.  We had a great view of all of the towns' fireworks.  Where I live goes all out on the 4th, with almost every household buying fireworks.  Even though the 4th is over, knowing my town fireworks will probably continue for another day or two!
